Primitive Tider
Primitive Tider · Norway
Aims & Scope
Primitive tider publishes articles that challenge established ways of working in archaeology, showcasing how new methods, perspectives, and actors can expand both the data basis and academic interpretations. Several contributions focus on citizen science as a resource in archaeological documentation, research, and dissemination. Questions about data quality and the need for clear frameworks for collaboration between academic communities and the public are also addressed. Furthermore, the journal explores the dissemination and interpretation of cultural heritage, with a particular emphasis on how dissemination choices affect the understanding of the past for younger generations. The journal aims to gather contributions from both experienced researchers and new authors, highlighting alternative methodological and theoretical perspectives. Articles examine new analytical approaches to social and economic contexts and the potential of giving older documentation renewed analytical relevance, especially when direct access to artifacts is limited. The articles presented demonstrate a discipline in development, where citizen science, digital tools, and theoretical and methodological reflection play an increasingly important role in understanding and disseminating the past.
