Precedente es la revista jurídica semestral de la Facultad de Ciencias Humanas de la Universidad Icesi de Cali, Colombia. Es una publicación que reúne el trabajo inédito de académicos nacionales y extranjeros que abordan temas generales de Teoría Jurídica, Derecho Comparado, Historia del Derecho y dogmática jurídica en derecho civil, comercial, laboral, constitucional, administrativo, penal, entre otros. El objetivo fundamental de Precedente es que la producción intelectual de sus autores se difunda y se divulgue al punto de hacer de ella una fuente privilegiada de investigación y de deliberación racional, dado el carácter reflexivo, crítico y constructivo de los artículos, recensiones y reseñas que la componen. Su contenido es, por demás, puesto sin restricción alguna a la libre disposición de la comunidad jurídica global.
