Aims & Scope

RESEÑAS is a semestral, academic and specific publication of the Asociación de Profesores de Enseñanza de la Historia de Universidades Nacionales -APEHUN- that has been published since 2003. APEHUN was founded on November 27, 1999 in La Cumbre - Córdoba, by initiative of a group of professors who were members of chairs and research in History Teaching and Teaching Practices of the professorship of Public Universities of Argentina. The central objective of the first meeting was to create a space that would allow sharing experiences in Teaching, Extension and Research in the area of History Teaching in National Universities that are dedicated to training History professors. For this reason, professors from National Universities from all over the country were convened, with similar concerns and difficulties regarding the training of History professors and to fulfill a long-held desire to promote the meeting between chairs of state universities scattered throughout the national territory. In that first meeting, the course programs, extension experiences, and research projects were shared, but, fundamentally, it was resolved to constitute APEHUN which would bring together and maintain the inaugurated ties, while also opening up to new members. Over time, each meeting revitalized the intention to advance in the path of joining efforts and increasingly incorporating other teams that share the craft of training in history teaching. Since then and until now, it meets annually within the framework of the activities promoted by APEHUN. Currently, it is integrated by Chairs and Research Teams in History Teaching and Teaching Practices of the professorship of the National Universities of Córdoba, Rio Cuarto, Salta, Tucumán, del Nordeste, Rosario, de Cuyo, Mar del Plata, Litoral, del Comahue, Buenos Aires, UADER, General Sarmiento, General San Martín and Catamarca. APEHUN holds annual academic and scientific exchange meetings among its associates (Internships, Symposium, Training Tracks), organizes the National and International Congress of Research and History Teaching every two years, presents a working group within the framework of the Inter-schools/departments of History Conferences and publishes RESEÑAS de la enseñanza de la Historia, the association's scientific dissemination journal. APEHUN is a non-profit association, which since its creation has been carrying out the aforementioned activities, in order to promote, disseminate and consolidate a scientific space in the area of History Teaching. In this framework, it has built ties of exchange and concrete activities with the University Association of Professors in Social Sciences Teaching. Spain AUPDCS, the Chilean Association for the Teaching of Social Sciences. ACHECCSS, the Colombian Network of Research in Teaching of Social Sciences REDidcs, the Brazilian Association of History Researchers ABEH, the Network of Specialists in Teaching, Diffusion and Research in History Teaching.
