Aims & Scope

Journal of Shanghai Jiao Tong University (Medical Science), previously known as theJournal of Shanghai Second Medical University, is a comprehensive academic journal in medicine, pharmaceutics and health. Founded in 1958 and sponsored by Shanghai Jiao Tong University, the journal is issued on the 28thof each month. All articles published on the journal are open access and can be read and downloaded free of charge from this website. The aim of the journal is to facilitate the development of science and technology, cultivate academic talents and enhance academic exchanges. The journal publishes cutting edge achievements, theories, technologies and experiences in the fields of basic medicine, clinical medicine and public health. The journal welcomes papers of the following types: original research article, review, special topic, expert forum, perspective, short essay, technology and methodology and case report. The target readers are professionals engaged in clinical medicine, basic medicine, public health, nursing studies, pharmacy and other related fields, such as clinicians, scientific researchers, education staff, medical students, etc. The sponsor of the journal, Shanghai Jiao Tong University has one of the best medical schools in China, with outstanding personnel, leading research ability and achievements. The school has 16 “Key Disciplines” granted by the Ministry of Education, and 4 national “First-class Disciplines”, namely clinical medicine, stomatology, basic medicine and pharmacy.
