Aims & Scope
Encuentros Uruguayos is a free, peer-reviewed, open-access, continuous publication journal from the Center for Interdisciplinary Uruguayan Studies (CEIU) of the Faculty of Humanities and Educational Sciences, University of the Republic. It is an interdisciplinary, open-access electronic publication specializing in the recent past. It publishes articles in various sections: Recent History, Politics and Society, Imaginaries and Cultural Criticism. It publishes articles by national researchers in the field of social sciences and humanities in general, as well as articles by foreign researchers, which focus on our national community, or its relations with other communities. Theoretical research papers with relevant contributions related to the aforementioned disciplines are also published. The journal's policy has been to specialize and deepen existing sections, as well as to broaden the topics they cover. The journal also publishes thematic dossiers within the mentioned disciplinary fields. Encuentros Uruguayos is an academic journal aimed at a specialized audience and its objective is to constitute a space where disciplines dialogue with each other and contribute new knowledge.
