Aims & Scope

Journal of English Studies (JES) (ISSN 1576-6357, EISSN 1695-4300) is the journal of the English Studies Division at the University of La Rioja. It publishes original scholarly contributions in all areas of English Studies—including linguistics, literature, literary theory, cultural studies, film studies, and related disciplines—following favourable reports from, at least, two anonymous referees. JES welcomes research articles involving empirical investigations and methodological or theoretical studies, with a length of 6,000 to 10,000 words. JES does not publish book reviews. This journal is published exclusively online from volume 17 (2019) onwards. There are no author's submission fees nor any other publication-related fees. To preserve balanced authorship representation across the journal, JES does not permit the same author to appear in two consecutive issues. Authors who have a manuscript under review or accepted for publication must wait until at least one subsequent issue has been released before submitting a new manuscript.
