Humanidades Médicas

Aims & Scope

Humanidades Médicas is the scientific publication of the Center for the Development of Social and Humanistic Sciences in Health (CENDECSA), sponsored by the University of Medical Sciences of Camagüey, Cuba. The Center is an entity belonging to the Science and Technological Innovation System of the Republic of Cuba categorized by the Ministry of Science, Technology and the Environment as a Development and Innovation Unit (Resolution 174/2016), registered under number 008316 in the National Registry of Science, Technology and Innovation Entities. The journal Humanidades Médicas certified by the System for the Certification of Scientific-Technological Serial Publications, and registered in the National Registry of Serial Publications with no. 2006, has as its mission the publication of scientific results in the areas of Social and Humanistic Sciences applied to Health problems. It constitutes the representative communication organ for scientific results obtained from research, innovation, and postgraduate activities corresponding to the management of the science entity. It is part of the SciELO-Cuba collection, and of the SciELO citation index of the Web of Science (WOS). Humanidades Médicas demands originality of materials, publishes original articles and bibliographic reviews, which represent a field of knowledge in the area of social and humanistic sciences applied to Health sciences, which are samples of the research and innovation results of professionals from Cuba and the world. Due to its profile, Humanidades Médicas covers a broad spectrum in the field of social and humanistic sciences: philosophy, ethics, bioethics, aesthetics, history, history of medicine and public health, social studies of science and technology, psychology, pedagogy, communication.
