Aims & Scope
TheJournal of Distribution Science (JDS)is an international, peer-reviewed scholarly journal dedicated to advancinginnovative, impactful, and globally relevanttheoretical and empirical research in the fields of distribution economics, distribution management, and distribution science. The journal provides a global platform for research addressing contemporary issues, structural transformations, and innovations in distribution systems and markets. JDS conceptualizes distribution as a value-creating economic activity encompassing the processes through which goods, services, and information are moved, exchanged, coordinated, and interact within distribution systems and markets, including the transfer of ownership through market exchange mechanisms. Within this framework, the journal aims to deepen the understanding of the structures, functions, mechanisms, and outcomes of distribution systems across both traditional and digital environments. JDS publishes rigorous and original studies that demonstrate strong theoretical grounding, methodological rigor, and meaningful academic and practical implications. The journal welcomes research that directly and substantively engages with distribution-related systems, functions, strategies, and market processes. Relevant topics include, but are not limited to, logistics and supply chain management (SCM), distribution information technologies, digital transformation, channel management, retailing and wholesaling, platform-based and data-driven distribution systems, customer relationship management (CRM), and consumer behavior within distribution contexts. JDS particularly encourages interdisciplinary and internationally relevant research that contributes to the advancement of distribution-related knowledge and enhances its academic and practical impact.
