Aims & Scope
Kasvatus & Aika is a multidisciplinary Open Access journal that has established itself as a leading domestic journal of educational history. The journal publishes peer-reviewed scientific articles, scientific reviews, topical discussions, and book reviews. The journal is published four times a year. The journal's aim is to promote Finnish open, high-level scientific discussion and expertise on historical and societal phenomena related to education and upbringing, and on the temporal and societal aspects of education and upbringing. Therefore, Kasvatus & Aika is non-profit, for researchers and others interested in the subject. It has been openly available online from the beginning. It is peer-reviewed (so-called double blind). It has a selected, expert, and motivated editorial board. It has high-level reviewers. It trains emerging researchers. Training emerging (and more experienced) good researchers in scientific writing maintains and raises the level and visibility of Finnish research also in the international publication field.
