Aims & Scope
HUM, journal of the Faculty of Humanities and Social Sciences, University of Mostar, is an academic journal of the Faculty of Humanities and Social Sciences, University of Mostar, which publishes papers in the fields of social sciences and the humanities, with a special emphasis on the scholarly study of Bosnia and Herzegovina and its regional and European context. The journal’s central focus is research on language, literature, culture, society, history, and identity, as well as analyses of social processes and ideas important for understanding Bosnian-Herzegovinian society within its broader humanistic and social connections. The journal encourages interdisciplinary approaches, but its point of departure remains a clearly humanistic and socially oriented perspective. Hum particularly values contributions that explore how local and regional phenomena shed light on universal questions of language, culture, and society, as well as those that enhance the understanding of Bosnia and Herzegovina’s position within Southeast Europe and the world.
