Aims & Scope

HUM, journal of the Faculty of Humanities and Social Sciences, University of Mostar, is an academic journal of the Faculty of Humanities and Social Sciences, University of Mostar, which publishes papers in the fields of social sciences and the humanities, with a special emphasis on the scholarly study of Bosnia and Herzegovina and its regional and European context. The journal’s central focus is research on language, literature, culture, society, history, and identity, as well as analyses of social processes and ideas important for understanding Bosnian-Herzegovinian society within its broader humanistic and social connections. The journal encourages interdisciplinary approaches, but its point of departure remains a clearly humanistic and socially oriented perspective. Hum particularly values contributions that explore how local and regional phenomena shed light on universal questions of language, culture, and society, as well as those that enhance the understanding of Bosnia and Herzegovina’s position within Southeast Europe and the world. Hum is an open access journal, meaning that papers published in the journal can be used free of charge for personal or educational purposes, with proper citation. This is in accordance to Creative Commons Attribution Non-Commercial 4.0 International licence (CC BY-NC 4.0 DEED) that can be seen at the following link: https://creativecommons.org/licenses/by-nc/4.0/. Authors retain the copyright of their papers without any restrictions and grant the publisher the right of first publication. Authors may publish their papers in other publications, provided that it is clearly acknowledged where the paper was initially published. Hum publishes peer-reviewed papers, as well as those that are not subject to peer-review process. Subject to peer review are the papers which may be classified into four categories according to general standards: original scientific paper, preliminary communication, review paper and professional paper.
