Aims & Scope

Anales del Instituto de Investigaciones Estéticas publishes original and unpublished academic research articles that correspond to the thematic orientation of the journal, presenting innovative perspectives, case studies, or theoretical problems. It also publishes findings of interest for research, such as initial approaches to a topic before being published as a research article or book, documents, reproductions of unknown or restored works of art, information about institutions in our discipline (archives, organizations, institutes, etc.) and their programs, academic trends, cultural policies (of museums, restoration institutes, etc.). Additionally, it publishes tributes or obituaries of distinguished intellectuals in our disciplinary field, both from our university and from around the world. Book reviews on art history and theory, design, architecture, and urbanism are also published.

A twelfth criterion — whether APC fees are clearly disclosed — is not scored here; it is left out of the total rather than counted as a failure. Publication charges appear in the metrics card above.
