Aims & Scope
The Servicio de Publicaciones of the Universidad de Extremadura is the publisher of books, journals, and other publications. Its mission is to disseminate, value, and transfer knowledge for the benefit of culture, quality of life, and economic development. The editorial activity is a fundamental instrument for transmitting knowledge and disseminating culture, and it is considered the most qualified procedure for making the academic and research activity of public universities known to society and for rendering accounts of the use of public resources received for its management and development. The Servicio de Publicaciones was created in 1981 and manages the editing, commercialization, and exchange of books, journals, and any other type of publication in print, magnetic, or other formats. It has an advisory board and publishes works of research, monographs, textbooks, scientific works, university outreach works, works of cultural interest related to historical and artistic heritage, and specialized scientific journals. It also promotes and supports open-access electronic publications.
