Mémoires du livre / Studies in Book Culture
Groupe de recherches et d'études sur le livre au Québec · Canada · Est. 2009
Aims & Scope
Mémoires du livre – Studies in Book Culture is a bilingual open access journal, available on the Erudit portal. It is devoted to the book and the printed word in all their forms, whether ancient books, periodicals or digital books. Everything concerning the past, present and future of the book finds its place here: the actors and institutions of the book production chain, materialities and content, practices and uses. The powers that operate within the world of the book are of as much interest to the journal as the powers of the printed word. Mémoires du livre – Studies in Book Culture aims to highlight the entire book system, from production to reception: each link in the chain will be analyzed, from the author to the reader, including the publisher, distributor, translator, bookseller or librarian. Resolutely interdisciplinary (history, literary studies, economics, sociology, etc.), the journal is also open to reflections on identities – gender, culture, social group – as they are expressed through the history of the book.
