Aims & Scope

The Gepros Journal is an academic periodical that focuses primarily on the field of Production Engineering and related areas. Its objective is to disseminate world-class knowledge in this field, contributing to the advancement of the state of the art in the topics covered. The journal seeks to promote the development and modernization of society, having intrinsic practical value. The articles published in the Gepros Journal must adhere to rigorous national and international standards of academic arbitration. Target Audience: The target audience of the Gepros Journal consists of professors, researchers, postgraduate students, undergraduate students, professionals, and individuals interested in the field of Production Engineering and related areas. The journal aims to meet the needs of this audience by providing high-quality content with academic relevance. Additionally, the journal values open access to its content, which extends its reach and benefits society as a whole. Therefore, the Gepros Journal invites authors from the mentioned fields to submit their articles for review and possible publication. Articles in Portuguese and English are accepted, covering a wide range of topics, including but not limited to: Industry 4.0: This thematic line addresses emerging trends related to digital transformation in production and operations, including the application of technologies such as the Internet of Things (IoT), Big Data, Analytics, and other disruptive technologies. Operations Management in Emerging Sectors: This thematic line addresses operations management in emerging sectors such as renewable energy industry, space industry, biotechnology industry, and other emerging sectors. Supply Chain Finance: This thematic line addresses emerging trends related to financial management of the supply chain, including best practices in cash flow management, financial risk management, and the use of financial technologies. Sustainability: This thematic line addresses sustainable management of production and operations, including waste management and disposal, the use of renewable energy, the reduction of greenhouse gas emissions, corporate social responsibility, and other sustainability-related issues. Artificial Intelligence (AI): This thematic line addresses the use of AI in production and operations management, including the application of machine learning algorithms and process automation. Blockchain: This thematic line addresses the use of blockchain in production and operations management, including the application of distributed ledger technologies to ensure transparency and security in business transactions. Lean Six Sigma: This thematic line addresses the Lean and Six Sigma methodologies to improve efficiency and quality in production processes, including the application of tools such as value stream mapping and statistical process control. Innovation Management: This thematic line addresses best practices in innovation management in production and operations, including the application of techniques such as Design Thinking and Innovation Portfolio Management. Service Management: This thematic line addresses operations management in service sectors, including healthcare services, financial services, transportation and logistics services, IT services, and other types of services. Competitive Intelligence in Operations: This thematic line addresses the application of competitive intelligence in operations, including the collection and analysis of information about competitors, customers, suppliers, and other aspects of the competitive environment. Operations Management in Family Businesses: This thematic line addresses operations management in family businesses, including issues related to succession, corporate governance, organizational culture, and other specific aspects of family businesses. Operations Management in Startups: This thematic line addresses operations management in startups, including issues related to managing scarce resources, agile product and service development.
