Aims & Scope
Sexualidade, Saúde e Sociedade – Revista Latinoamericana is an annual, continuous publication, open access, free and gratuitous journal, aligned with the open science regime with IDEIA – Impact, Diversity, Equity, Inclusion and Accessibility. It favors the publication of empirical research results based on the perspective of the human and social sciences. It publishes original articles, conferences, interviews, book reviews, and other academic texts that, focusing on the Latin American social context, explore the cultural and political dimensions of sexualities and gender and bring relevant and original contributions. The journal publishes texts in three languages (Spanish, Portuguese, and English). Its main themes of interest are: a) Social practices and representations about sexualities/eroticism and their connections with various social markers of difference (gender, social class, race/color, ethnicity/nationality, life stages/generation, etc.); b) Public policies, legal frameworks, and the action of different civil society actors (social movements, religious groups, NGOs, funding agencies, etc.) in the process of establishing sexual and reproductive rights in the areas of health, justice, and education, among others. c) Sciences and knowledge about sexuality, with an emphasis on the role of public or collective health for the development of research and public policies on the subject.
