Aims & Scope

Al-Adab Journal – A Forum for Thought and the Humanities Since its establishment in 1959 by the College of Arts, University of Baghdad, Al-Adab Journal has continued its distinguished journey as one of the oldest peer‑reviewed journals in the Arab world. It serves as a rigorous intellectual platform that enables scholars and thinkers to publish original contributions in the fields of the humanities. More than a conventional academic periodical, the journal is a vibrant arena for scholarly and cultural dialogue and a vital source for advancing critical thought and knowledge. The journal covers a wide range of disciplines, including: • Arabic literature and literary criticism • History and philosophy • Sociology and psychology • Human geography and cultural studies • Comparative studies and interdisciplinary research linking the humanities with contemporary social realities
