Aims & Scope
Correspondences is an international, peer-reviewed online journal for the academic study of esotericism. We encourage submissions from disciplinary backgrounds including history, sociology, art history, philosophy, history of science, literature, cultural studies, history of religions, anthropology, and media studies. We welcome a variety of methodological and theoretical approaches, and maintain an open stance toward interpretations of the boundaries of the field of esotericism studies, and welcome definitional approaches to this issue. We welcome submissions on a variety of esoteric currents, including, but not limited to: alchemy, anthroposophy, astrology, contemporary Paganism, Gnosticism, Hermeticism, initiatory societies, kabbalah, magic, mesmerism, modern Tantra, mysticism, New Age spirituality, new religious movements (e.g. the Five Percenters, Scientology), occultism, occulture, parapsychology/psychical research, Rosicrucianism, Satanism, Spiritualism, Swedenborgianism, Theosophy, witchcraft, yoga Please note that we are interested in analytical rather than advocative approaches to these currents.
