Aims & Scope
The BJMH is a pioneering Open Access, peer-reviewed journal that brings high quality scholarship in military history to an audience beyond academia. Being an an open access journal means that all content is freely available without charge to the user or their institution. Users are allowed to read, download, copy, distribute, print, search, or link to the full texts of the articles, or use them for any other lawful purpose, without asking prior permission from the publisher or the author. This is in accordance with the BOAI definition of open access. The British Journal for Military History (BJMH) is the scholarly journal of the British Commission for Military History (BCMH) established in support of the Commission’s Object, to ‘promote through research, publication and discussion the understanding of military history in the broadest sense, without restriction as to period or region.’
