Aims & Scope

Geojournal of Tourism and Geosites is a scientific publication, with an international status. The Journal is issued under the aegis of the University of Oradea, Department of Geography, Tourism and Territorial Planning, Territorial Studies and Analysis Centre (Romania) and the Academy of Physical Education and Sports from GdaΕ„sk, Faculty of Tourism and Recreation (Poland). At the initiative of an international group of specialists, based on an editorial and scientific committee with a wide international coverage, including leading figures in the field, in 2008 was published the first English issue of the Geojournal of Tourism and Geosites. The printable format (2-4 issues per year) is supported by the on-line version. The journal welcomes original contributions in geography, tourism, geosites, geoheritage studies, cartography, geographic information science and spatial analyses, urban and rural landscape, ethnography, tourism planning, environmental science, geomarketing and other areas whose analysis is related to these fields, standing out through originality and scientific contribution to the knowledge and development of this area. An important objective is to promote academic and applied research based on interdisciplinary with a complex local and global approach. Geojournal of Tourism and Geosites is a global academic publisher of original research papers which are referred by at least two anonymous reviewers and uses double-blind review. For a paper to be accepted, it must be followed by a high standard of scholarship and make a relevant theoretical, conceptual, methodological or empirical contribution in the field of Geography. The contribution should be firmly established in the relevant literature. The content of the publication is intended for a heterogeneous community made of academic (teaching staff, researchers), practitioners, students, and showing interest in geography, tourism and geosites and where the synthetic approach triggered by the connection of social and physical sciences (environmental) can contribute substantially to the understanding, promotion and development of places, regions and the territory in its whole. The papers which involve the application of spatial analyses, geographical theory and methodology to resolve the problems of human, society and environment and also problems related to man-environment relationship are appreciated. GeoJournal of Tourism and Geosites is an international academic journal, and therefore it accepts all the papers which are focused on any place or region in the world. Moreover, review articles, book reviews, invited essays and memorials, all constitute the contents of the journal. The journal meets the international requirements concerning the publication norms and ethics.
