Aims & Scope
Islamic Review: Jurnal Riset dan Kajian Keislaman is an refereed academic journal published by the Institute for Research and Community Service (LPPM) Institut Pesantren Mathali'ul Falah (IPMAFA) Pati, Indonesia. The Journal was published biannually from 2012 (in April and October). is a peer-reviewed, open-access academic journal dedicated to providing a critical, interdisciplinary platform for scholarly inquiry into Islam and the Islamic tradition. The journal emphasizes the dynamic contextualization of Islamic teachings in response to contemporary global challenges and societal dynamics. We seek to publish rigorous research and critical essays that bridge classical Islamic thought with modern academic discourse. It publishes articles and research papers in Indonesian and English to seeks to place Islam and the Islamic tradition as its central focus of academic inquiry and to encourage comprehensive consideration of its many facets; to promote the diffusion, exchange and discussion of research findings; and to encourage interaction among academics from various traditions of learning. The existence of this journal is rooted in the academic commitment to bridge classical Islamic scholarship with modern scientific approaches, fostering critical and constructive dialogue among disciplines such as Islamic education, social sciences, humanities, and cultural studies. Islamic Review: Jurnal Riset dan Kajian Keislaman seeks to contribute to the advancement of Islamic thought and practice that promotes justice, compassion, and social transformation in accordance with the spirit of Islam rahmatan lil ‘alamin . Located in Indonesia—the world’s largest Muslim-majority country— Islamic Review offers a distinctive perspective on Islam Nusantara , which harmonizes Islamic values with local traditions and plural societies. This makes the journal particularly attractive to international scholars seeking insights into moderate, inclusive, and contextual expressions of Islam.
