Aims & Scope
Americanía: Revista de Estudios Latinoamericanos is a plural and open publication for reflection and debate on America, with a vocation to promote and disseminate scientific advances in the field of Latin American History and other related disciplines. Given the expectations and challenges facing Latin America, the historical question is decisive for reflecting on the diverse realities of the region. We propose Americanía as an academic space that allows researchers from different backgrounds and disciplines to establish a fruitful exchange of the latest scientific advances in the field of Latin American history. All articles will undergo a scientific review, first by the Editorial Board and second by two external reviewers using the "double-blind" referee system. That is, the report of two experts is mandatory for the evaluation of each manuscript. In case of discrepancy, the Director may request the review of a third evaluator. Reviewers are external to the Publishing Entity and the Editorial Board. Their evaluation will be binding for decision-making. Methodological reviews are used for the review of certain articles. Authors have the possibility to suggest names of possible reviewers.
