Aims & Scope
Apuntes. Revista de Ciencias Sociales is a semiannual journal (January and July) of open access, edited by the Fondo Editorial de la Universidad del Pacífico (Peru) since 1973. Its objective is to publish unpublished articles on Latin America and the Caribbean from researchers who contribute to the study of social sciences and economics with a long-term vision. Interdisciplinary research applying qualitative, quantitative, or mixed methodologies to analyze actors, institutions, and public policies with a comparative perspective is valued. Articles related to (but not excluding other topics in social sciences and economics) are particularly considered: Human capital, education and health. Sustainable development. Urban development and infrastructure. Economics of crime, illegality, violence and security. Gender, race and ethnicity. Cultural management. Economic and business history. Labor market, informal economy and precarious work. Migrations. Citizen participation and social inclusion. Technology, productivity and society. These thematic lines reflect Apuntes' commitment to critical and multidisciplinary analysis of social, economic, and political phenomena in Latin America and the Caribbean.
