Revista Universitaria de Historia Militar On-line
Centro de Estudios de Historia Militar · Spain · Est. 2003
Aims & Scope
The Revista Universitaria de Historia Militar (RUHM) is an international scientific publication dedicated to the study of war, violence, the military world, and public order. It is the first journal in the Spanish-speaking world in this field to be governed by a peer-review system. RUHM is open to the reception of special issues, articles, bibliographic essays, and reviews where the military and/or war in their multiple aspects are central to the analysis, with a special preference for works that fall within the scope of social and cultural history. There are no restrictions regarding the temporal and spatial framework: the journal accepts works from Prehistory to the present day, and at the same time is interested in broadening the spectrum of geographical areas under study. RUHM also does not impose limitations on methodological approach, as long as the texts are within the most advanced perspectives and debates in their field. Contributions from the social, cultural, economic, political, military, diplomatic-international, or gender fields are welcome, including analyses from comparative, transnational, and global perspectives. The objective of the journal is to promote dialogue between experts from different parts of the globe and with different academic traditions, so that each issue offers an updated sample of the main advances in the fields of military history and strategic studies. Ultimately, it is about valuing the studies of war and integrating them into the main debates and concerns of the Spanish-speaking academic community.
