Aims & Scope
RELAT is a tourism journal informed by the social sciences. Alongside traditional perspectives associated with tourism themes – such as applied studies of management and tourism economics – RELAT dedicates considerable attention to interpretive and critical theoretical perspectives, which aim to problematize taken-for-granted notions, thus opening space for multi-, trans-, and interdisciplinary dialogues with the aim of producing knowledge, not only about the tourist object (something still under construction) but from it, ultimately contributing to the consolidation of this field of knowledge. The journal accepts articles that address the theme of Tourism in its different approaches, preferably but not exclusively in interface with the social sciences. For illustration, the main themes addressed by the journal have been Public Policies, Public Management, Private Management, Social Management, Sociology, Anthropology, Urban Planning, Geography, among others.
