Aims & Scope
Historia Agraria de América Latina (HAAL) is a research journal specialized in the economic, social, political, and cultural history of rural societies in Latin America and the Caribbean, without restriction of historical periods or geographical areas. The journal favors the publication of articles that analyze new topics and problems, propose theoretical-methodological contributions, and/or present new interpretations that expand knowledge on the subjects they address. HAAL seeks to promote and disseminate scientific research and interdisciplinary debate on Latin American rural history. Manuscripts must be original and not under evaluation in another journal. HAAL also considers the publication of articles from economics, anthropology, political science, sociology, and other disciplines that examine rural society issues with a historical perspective. The journal publishes articles and book reviews in Spanish, English, and Portuguese; it also includes thematic dossiers and special issues with guest editors.
