Aims & Scope
Contrapulso is a semi-annual, open-access journal published by the Universidad Alberto Hurtado of Chile, with blind peer review by external peers, oriented towards the multidisciplinary study of popular music in Latin America and the Caribbean, as well as Latin music worldwide. We are interested in the musical, literary, performative, sonic, (audio)visual, and/or discursive scrutiny of popular repertoire, as well as the study of industries, audiences, and everything that has surrounded and fueled popular music throughout history. We call for researchers from (ethno)musicology, arts, humanities, and social sciences.
