Aims & Scope

The Central European Journal of Politics seeks to be a platform for developing theoretically and methodologically original scientific discussions articulating a conceptual and comparative perspective in political science, employing both quantitative and qualitative approaches. Territorially, the attempts aim to primarily cover an area of Central and Eastern Europe; however, any contributions addressing the countries not incorporated into this area are also welcome, provided they bring new findings that may innovate research topics applicable in the future in a research of the area of Central and Eastern Europe. Furthermore, another very important aspect is the emphasis on interdisciplinary approach, engaging not only the topics within the field of political science, but also from other social science disciplines, such as sociology, international relations, foreign and security studies, geography, area studies, media studies, political economy, and others. In its area of expertise, the journal focuses on comparative politics at both international and intranational levels, with an increased effort on the analysis of the formation and functioning of a multilevel political system, i.e. the research field involving a variety of institutional levels and diverse arenas in which political processes occur and where a wide range of actors operate, assuming the interactions of various types, across different levels of the political system (national, regional, or local).
