Aims & Scope
INSAN Jurnal Psikologi dan Kesehatan Mental (JPKM) is a peer-reviewed journal that focuses on mental health research and case reports in Indonesia in particular and Southeast Asia in general. The scope of mental health in Indonesia and Southeast Asia is a key issue in the articles published because mental health is also affected by local and contextual values and norms. The diverse aspects of locality in a region will lead to protective and risk factors that may impact the sustainability of contextualized mental health interventions in both Indonesia and Southeast Asia. Southeast Asia, which consists of 11 countries, is diverse in ethnicity, culture, language and religion. This leads to a variety of perspectives and issues related to mental health. Indonesia, which has the largest population in Southeast Asia (40 percent of all Southeast Asians), also contributes significantly to this diversity as it has more than 1300 ethnicities, more than 700 languages, and plural values and customs. The mission of this journal is to contribute and support the dissemination of mental health research as well as assessment and intervention/therapy cases brought by psychology/mental health professionals that are contextualized to the culturally diverse region of Indonesia and Southeast Asia. In addition to the regional scope, the topics covered by this journal are: Psychopathology Mental health promotion Community and public mental health Mental health in industrial and organizational setting Mental health in school settings Inclusive education Child and adolescent mental health Quality of mental health services INSAN JPKM facilitates the publication of articles in the form of research findings and case reports in the regional context of Indonesia and Southeast Asia.
