Revista de periodicidad anual, dedicada al estudio de la Historia Medieval, preferentemente hispánica y en clave comparada en su contexto europeo y mediterráneo. Publica artículos originales distribuidos en dos Secciones: el Dossier monográfico, dedicado a un tema específico en el que colaboran destacados especialistas españoles y extranjeros, y la Sección Miscelánea. La Revista cuenta también con un apartado dedicado a reseñas bibliográficas e informa de las tesis doctorales de Historia Medieval defendidas en la Universidad de Valladolid. Edad Media. Revista de Historia tiene una vocación abierta al pluralismo historiográfico, tanto en lo que se refiere a los planteamientos teóricos y a la diversidad temática como a la comunicación con otras ciencias sociales.
