Aims & Scope
Percées – Explorations en arts vivants is a francophone scholarly journal dedicated to the living arts. The fields of theatre, dance, circus, performance, and interdisciplinary artistic practices are reflected upon from different theoretical perspectives. This plurality of approaches allows for a composite understanding of issues related to phenomena, processes, works, or reception experiences. Giving significant importance to contemporary history and creation-research, the journal promotes the erosion of epistemological boundaries and highlights the porosity, friction, and echoes between systems of thought. Each of the two annual issues is subject to a double-blind review. Publications include a main dossier and a section for free articles. Reviews of recent publications and a "Documents" section, composed of free forms (interviews, photographs, sketches, soundscapes), complete the table of contents. The journal is also accompanied by L’Extension – R&C, a reflexive space dedicated to creation projects, practice narratives, and various essayistic forms. As an open-access electronic journal, Percées favors, through its medium and the format of contributions, the meeting of textual components and iconographic, audiovisual, or hypermedia materials specific to the living arts.
