Aims & Scope

Lidé města / Urban People are an international peer-reviewed journal in the field of social and cultural anthropology with a specific focus on topics related to urban anthropology. The journal aims to support high-quality and ethically responsible academic research, disseminate its results and knowledge in the broadest sense, and foster international academic discussions. It is published three times a year, twice in Czech or Slovak and once in English. The journal welcomes ethnographic and qualitative studies in particular, but does not exclude other methodological and (inter)disciplinary approaches and perspectives that fulfill its goals. It publishes original theoretical and empirical research, as well as review articles, book reviews, and news and reports from academic life. Occasionally, it also provides space for academic editions of relevant sources and discussions.
