Aims & Scope
Polytechnica: Journal of Technology Education is a multidisciplinary journal focused on the study of teaching and learning in technology and engineering and on STEM education. It promotes topics that explore contemporary technological and engineering education at all levels, from early elementary school to university, as well as teacher education in this area. It also accepts professional and scientific topics from the fields of engineering, computer sciences, and ICT, which are related to learning, teaching, and curriculum development in this field. The journal values unique contributions of different perspectives that view technology and engineering education either as traditionally defined, subject-based education or as an educational undertaking in inter-connected STEM fields. It features original research and research reviews, but also professional papers and preliminary notes. Interdisciplinary research contributions are preferred. There are no methodological limitations, but this journal aims to promote multidisciplinary research and development through contributions that are empirically based and combine content expertise and pedagogical efforts. Contributions from scholars in the fields of technology and engineering as well as social science fields such as education, psychology, and sociology are encouraged to promote scholarly exchange and discussion of emerging issues and frontier research in technology and engineering education.
