Aims & Scope
INTER: REVISTA DE DIREITO INTERNACIONAL E DIREITOS HUMANOS is an academic publication linked to the research line in International Law and Human Rights at the Federal University of Rio de Janeiro. Its mission is the dissemination of academic work focused on the areas of International Law and Human Rights. The journal aims to foster scientific reflection and rigorous academic debate, dedicated to the critical examination of the multiple normative, institutional, and axiological dimensions that shape contemporary international legal order, with special attention to the promotion, protection, and effectiveness of human rights. It aligns with the doctrinal current that understands human rights as a true structuring axis of the international legal system, endowed with its own normative force and capable of radiating concrete effects on domestic legal systems, serving as a privileged forum for the diffusion of legal knowledge committed to the values that inform human dignity and international justice. The journal encourages an integrated reading between Domestic Law and International Law, recognizing the need to strengthen dialogue between national and international jurisdictions as an indispensable instrument for the realization of fundamental rights in societies marked by deep social, economic, and political asymmetries. It is committed to a legal hermeneutics oriented by humanistic values, the prevalence of human rights in international relations, and the construction of a more just, solidary, and inclusive international legal order.
