The Journal of Iranian Studies is open to scholarly research in Iran-related fields, especially in disciplines such as history, politics, social policies, economic policies, social studies, religious and sectarian studies, art and literature. Articles submitted on art and architecture should have an analytical and interpretive perspective within social, cultural, political and religious contexts. The journal does not cover formalist-descriptive art history topics.
