Aims & Scope

The main goal of the journal is to establish a professional platform for discussing the current state and topical issues of penitentiary science and practice, taking into account their legal, psychological and pedagogical aspects. The journalPenitentiary Scienceprovides the broad public with an access to fundamental and applied research findings by Russian and foreign authors on the theory and history of state and the law, criminal law and criminology, criminal procedure, judicial activity, prosecutor's activity, human rights and law enforcement, criminalistics, administrative law, administrative procedure, legal psychology and pedagogy. The journal seeks to publish original, creative and relevant research findings and achievements of penitentiary practice by authors from Russia and other countries, in Russian and English. The editor provides an opportunity for young scientists to publish their dissertation research materials. That is why publications in the journal are free-of-charge, and the publisher seeks to provide authors with favorable conditions for publishing their works and to enable open access to the publications for readers. The journal’s target audience includes representatives of the scientific and expert community, university professors, postgraduates and master’s degree students who study the problems of penitentiary science at the theoretical and empirical levels. Papers published in the journal can be interesting and useful to state and municipal authorities, representatives of human rights organizations, and anyone interested in penitentiary science.
