Aims & Scope
The Italian Journal of Prevention, Diagnostic and Therapeutic Medicine (IJPDTM) is the official journal of the Italian Society of Diagnostic and Therapeutic Medicine (SIMEDET). It aims to promote research, culture, and scientific updating both within and outside the medical and professional community. The journal's mission is to offer a permanent and rigorous space for original contributions, reviews, case reports, short communications, and scientific letters concerning prevention, diagnosis, and therapy in clinical and translational disciplines. IJPDTM addresses healthcare professionals with diverse backgrounds: physicians, nurses, biomedical laboratory technicians, pathological anatomy technicians, pharmacists, physiotherapists, and healthcare figures involved in prevention and diagnostics. The thematic areas covered include internal medicine, emergency medicine, clinical prevention, primary care, as well as numerous related specialties such as cardiology, pneumology, nephrology, neurology, gastroenterology, infectious diseases, and hematology. The multidisciplinary approach is not only stated at the mission level but is concretely present in the journal's publications: for example, articles concerning debriefing in emergency rooms, digital health, collaboration between different healthcare professionals, and shared clinical protocols. The journal encourages submissions of studies that involve multiple specialties, integrate clinical, diagnostic, and management/operational data, come from research groups that span departments, healthcare professions, and diagnostic/therapeutic areas, and have practical relevance for improving care pathways, protocols, or guidelines.
