Aims & Scope
ABside is an international, peer-reviewed, and Open Access academic journal of Art History from the University of Cagliari. It is classified as Class A for area 10 (Art History) and scientific for area 8 (Design and Architecture), recognized by ANVUR - National Agency for the Evaluation of the University and Research System. It welcomes unpublished scientific contributions in Italian, English, Spanish, and French. The cultural scope of the journal is art history, conservation, enhancement, and restoration of cultural heritage. The journal covers the thematic field of artistic production from the 3rd-4th century AD to contemporary times. Geographically, the preferred area is the Mediterranean, understood both as a physical space and as a cultural reference point for studies dealing with common aspects in other areas and cultural and material exchange relationships. Particular attention will also be given to studies on museology, monument restoration, and themes related to the enhancement of cultural sites. The journal aims to encourage, in the areas identified above, historical-artistic research on the Mediterranean area, with an openness to other territories, proposing itself as a container for exchange and comparison not only among members of the academic community of sector specialists but, transcending national borders, among different academic communities and civil society. It thus aims to offer opportunities for exchange and verification to specialists, but also to provide cultural operators with valid scientific tools for the knowledge of Cultural Heritage.
