Aims & Scope
GEO DATA is an official, peer-reviewed, open-access journal of the GeoAI Data Society ( https://gaidas.org ). GEO DATA represents a premier open geoscience research data platform and publishes high-quality scientific data articles to foster global data sharing. The first issue of GEO DATA was published in December 2019, led by the Korea Institute of Geoscience and Mineral Resources, National Institute of Ecology, Korea Institute of Ocean Science and Technology, Korea Aerospace Research Institute, and Korea Polar Research Institute, all of which focus on earth sciences research and high-standard data generation. Data articles provide a comprehensive description of datasets, including technical definitions, precise metadata, sample collection methodologies (dates and locations), and file formats. While data articles focus on the technical validation and documentation of datasets rather than final thematic interpretations, they must provide sufficient detail on the data generation process to ensure reproducibility and reliability. The main purpose of these articles is to facilitate further scientific discovery and engineering innovation based on verified datasets. GEO DATA facilitates the global exchange of scientific knowledge in the following ways: ㆍWe provide standardized, high-quality data to support the generation of new scientific insights. ㆍWe ensure data is easily accessible and adheres to international data sharing standards. ㆍWe enhance the visibility and impact of research by promoting data reuse, leading to increased citations for authors. ㆍWe foster multidisciplinary collaborations by connecting data providers with global data users. ㆍWe promote scientific inclusiveness by welcoming original datasets from all specialized areas within earth system sciences. ㆍTo be published in GEO DATA, the presented data must have been acquired and curated through rigorous scientific methods and demonstrate significant value to the international research and engineering community. To be published in GEO DATA, the presented data must have been acquired and collected in a scientific way and be of value to the research community. Published data must be original and contribute significantly to data sharing and reuse. Articles that have been published in other journals or are currently under review cannot be submitted.
