Aims & Scope
Ñeatá is a semestral publication for the dissemination of research results, reviews, and experiences in the field of Semiotics and Discourse Analysis, as well as Social Sciences in general. This editorial initiative arose within the Group of Semio-discursive Studies GESEM (SGCyT-UNNE, Resolution No. 792-19 R) in an attempt to not only disseminate the results of our work but also to open spaces for dialogue with colleagues from other academic spheres. The name of the Journal, Ñeatá, is a word of Guarani origin that refers, in one of its meanings, to the action of speaking, chatting: “let's chat”. This is the objective of this publication: to invite you to exchange experiences, opinions, knowledge in an open academic space especially for this purpose and in which we will seek to feel comfortable. Because we understand that chatting brings us closer and generates bonds that are built as we weave meaning through conversation. Ñeatá hides a double metaphorization: related to the writing processes as a “fabric” of conversations with other voices, an intertextual and interdiscursive explosion, and another, which refers to possible dialogues, also “woven” between different voices belonging to different academic spaces. In the north of our country, from where we open this space for dialogue, we coexist with indigenous communities that enrich our language, soak our daily customs, and shape our regional identity. Inspired by the Guarani language, the idea of Ñeatá arises, as a synthesis of the academic and affective ties that we weave “while chatting” and that sustain our daily work in teaching and research. This word roots us in our identity and compels us to a regional-centered view in order to project ourselves outwards from there.
