Journal of Asian Social Science Research
Universitas Islam Negeri (UIN) Sunan Gunung Djati Bandung, Faculty of Social and Political Sciences, Centre for Asian Social Science Research (CASSR), Faculty of Social and Political Sciences · Indonesia · Est. 2019
Aims & Scope
JASSR publishes original, peer-reviewed research that advances social-science scholarship about Asia and in relation to Asia. We prioritize studies on contemporary changes and developments across Asian societies, with a special interest in Indonesia and in non-Western/Global South perspectives and epistemologies. We encourage comparative work—including comparisons between Western and Eastern/Global South/local intellectual traditions and across two or more countries—as well as inter- and multidisciplinary approaches. Submissions should be theoretically informed, empirically grounded, and may use qualitative, quantitative, or mixed methods to contribute to scholarship and policy. JASSR welcomes contributions that offer clear scholarly and policy-relevant insights across—though not limited to—sociology, anthropology, political science (governance and democracy), public policy and public administration, education, communication and media studies, religious studies and the sociology of religion, history, and cultural studies. We particularly invite work on current transformations in Asian societies, Indonesia-related inquiries, and cross-country comparisons. JASSR primarily publishes original research articles and critical review essays, and may consider research notes or policy commentaries when they offer substantive scholarly value.
