Aims & Scope
The Journal of Research in Social Sciences and Language (JSSAL) is an international, peer-reviewed journal situated within the broader field of the social sciences with a specific focus on education and language-related issues in learning environments. Rather than covering the full spectrum of social science research, the journal concentrates on teaching and learning processes in educational contexts, particularly where language plays a central role. JSSAL publishes empirical and theoretically grounded research that examines educational practices, policies, and learning processes in schools, higher education, and vocational education. The journal welcomes studies employing quantitative, qualitative, mixed-methods, and Q methodological approaches. The journal particularly encourages submissions addressing topics such as multilingualism, language acquisition, classroom interaction, teacher education, curriculum development, and sociolinguistic perspectives on education. While maintaining its primary focus on language-related dimensions of education, JSSAL also considers empirical studies on broader educational processes—such as student well-being, teacher development, and school culture—provided that these studies contribute to a deeper understanding of teaching and learning in diverse educational contexts.
