AAOS Transactions
The Academic Association for Organizational Science · Japan · Est. 2022
Aims & Scope
AAOS Transactions is an open-access online journal launched in 2022 by the Academic Association for Organizational Science (AAOS). It is an evolution of the previous "Transactions of the Academic Association for Organizational Science," aiming to strengthen its domestic and international reach and improve timeliness. The journal's mission is to provide the latest insights into organizational research in Japan, based on research presented at the AAOS annual meetings and branch research groups. Articles are peer-reviewed and published quarterly (February, May, August, November), with early publication available on J-STAGE immediately after acceptance. The journal actively publishes articles that have academic value but may not have received sufficient recognition in traditional top journals, aiming to revitalize the field of organizational research. It broadly includes proposals for nascent theories, detailed case studies, unique research reports, and review articles that organize important themes. AAOS Transactions offers a unique presence in organizational research with distinct features and editorial policies: 1. Publishing articles that provide "new value," actively including research that is nascent, novel, or innovative, in addition to mature theories and established research themes. It also values insights closely related to practice obtained through diligent surveys and questionnaires, offering diverse and unique findings. 2. Emphasizing readability and clarity in article structure, with a focus on exploring a single theme clearly. Articles are kept concise (4-10 pages in A4 format), with abstracts and keywords within one page, and references within three pages, allowing busy readers to grasp the main points quickly. 3. Operating with an awareness of international standards, requiring adherence to APA style. To ensure research ethics and transparency, submission to Jxiv (a preprint server operated by JST) and DOI acquisition are mandatory. Transparency in the peer-review process is enhanced by presenting clear standards to authors. 4. Timeliness and reach through rapid "early publication." Accepted articles are promptly published as "early-published articles" on J-STAGE without waiting for the regular publication schedule, contributing to knowledge sharing and discussion among researchers by providing the latest results in organizational research quickly.
