Aims & Scope
Qur'an, Culture And Civilization is an academic, peer-reviewed journal established in 2018 to explore the Qur’anic foundations of Islamic culture and civilization through an interdisciplinary lens. The journal publishes original research that examines the Qur’an’s role in shaping cultural systems, historical developments, civilizational patterns, and intellectual traditions across the Islamic world. The journal aims to: Advance scholarly knowledge of the Qur’an’s cultural and civilizational teachings. Promote interdisciplinary studies connecting Qur’anic research with history, sociology, anthropology, culture, and religious studies. Provide a scientific platform for critical analysis, comparative studies, and theoretical innovation in Qur’anic civilization. Encourage collaboration between scholars of Qur’anic studies and researchers in Islamic history, culture, and civilization. Contribute to contemporary debates on cultural change, social development, and civilizational renewal informed by Qur’anic perspectives. The journal welcomes high-quality research papers, analytical studies, and comparative works in (but not limited to) the following areas: 1. Qur’an and Civilization Civilizational concepts and principles derived from the Qur’an The Qur’an and Islamic civilization: foundations, evolution, and contemporary relevance Comparative studies between Qur’anic civilization and other world civilizations Modern theories of Qur’anic civilization and civilizational renewal The Qur’an and historical developments in Muslim societies Orientalist studies on Qur’anic civilization Historical analysis of Qur’anic narratives, events, and civilizational implications Civilizational interpretations of Qur’anic stories, prophetic biographies, and historical episodes 2. Qur’an and Culture Cultural concepts and cultural transformation in the light of the Qur’an The Qur’an and social culture: norms, values, identity, and community formation Comparative analyses between Qur’anic culture and other cultural systems Cultural indicators derived from Qur’anic teachings Orientalist perspectives on Qur’anic culture The Qur’an’s impact on individual and collective ethical behavior The journal encourages submissions that use interdisciplinary, comparative, historical, hermeneutical, analytical, sociological, and cultural methodologies.
