Aims & Scope
Trends in Ecological and Indoor Environmental Engineering (TEIEE) is an international, peer-reviewed, open-access journal that publishes high-quality research at the interface of environmental science, engineering, and environmental health, with a particular focus on environmental safety and sustainability in both outdoor and indoor environments. The journal aims to advance integrated knowledge on how natural, biological, and engineered systems interact to influence environmental quality, human health, and ecosystem resilience. TEIEE provides a platform for interdisciplinary studies that combine engineering approaches with ecological, biological, and socio-economic perspectives to address complex environmental challenges. The journal particularly welcomes contributions that examine environmental processes and risks through the lens of systems analysis, engineering solutions, monitoring technologies, or environmental safety frameworks. Studies rooted in ecological, biological, or health sciences are within scope when they demonstrate clear implications for environmental management, infrastructure, risk mitigation, or the design of safer and healthier environments. All submissions must demonstrate scientific rigor, methodological robustness, and relevance to real-world environmental challenges. Purely descriptive, narrowly biological, or clinical studies without clear linkage to environmental systems, engineering applications, or environmental safety are outside the scope of the journal. The journal covers a broad range of topics, including but not limited to: Environmental Engineering and Systems Environmental engineering systems and technologies Sustainable infrastructure and resource management Water science, treatment technologies, and urban water systems Waste management, recycling, and circular economy Pollution control and environmental remediation Environmental Monitoring and Data-Driven Approaches Environmental monitoring, assessment, and forecasting Smart sensing technologies and IoT applications Geographic Information Systems (GIS) and remote sensing Environmental modeling and simulation Climate, Sustainability, and Resilience Climate change impacts, mitigation, and adaptation Sustainable development and environmental policy integration Renewable and low-carbon energy systems Urban environmental resilience and risk management Environmental Safety and Risk Environmental and industrial risk assessment Exposure to physical, chemical, and biological hazards Environmental toxicology in applied and system contexts Safety of environmental and technological systems Indoor Environmental Engineering and Health Engineering of healthy indoor environments Indoor air quality and microclimate control Building systems and human-environment interaction Ergonomics and occupational environmental safety Biological and Health-Related Environmental Studies (Applied Scope) Environmental health and hygiene in built and urban environments Biological hazards in environmental systems (e.g., pathogens, contamination) Food and water safety in relation to environmental infrastructure Epidemiological studies linked to environmental conditions (e.g., climate–disease interactions) Microbial processes relevant to environmental engineering and biotechnology Note : Studies in biological, medical, or ecological fields must demonstrate clear relevance to environmental systems, engineering applications, or environmental safety frameworks.
