Aims & Scope

Compendium: Journal of Comparative Studies | Revista de Estudos Comparatistas proposes a critical exploration of intermedial networks in photography. By bringing together contributions that address photography from its intersections with literature, writing, performance, drawing, curatorship, and visual culture of the 19th and 20th centuries, it seeks to enrich current debates in photographic studies through a comparative perspective, highlighting intermediality as a central element in how photography was produced, theorized, and understood throughout its history. In addition to articles and reviews, it includes an interview focused on curatorial methods, the limits of visual media, and the challenges and potential of photographic materiality.
