Aims & Scope

Health and Metabolism (HM) is a gold open-access, peer-reviewed journal that aims to serve as a leading platform for the dissemination of groundbreaking research in health and metabolism sciences while fostering collaboration among researchers, clinicians, and public health professionals. The journal is committed to publishing high-quality, peer-reviewed articles that deepen our understanding of the intricate interactions between health and metabolism, ultimately contributing to the improvement of global health. The scope of Health and Metabolism covers a wide array of topics related to health and metabolism, including but not limited to: Mechanisms of metabolic regulation at the molecular and cellular levels Metabolic pathways and their roles in cellular function and health The structural basis of metabolic mechanisms Innovations in metabolic engineering, synthetic biology, and related fields Effects of physical activity and exercise on metabolic health, and underlying molecular mechanisms Carbohydrate, Lipid, and Protein metabolism Mechanistic insights into exercise-induced metabolic changes Aging-related metabolic changes and their implications for longevity and healthspan Advanced metabolomics, including single-cell metabolomics, spatial metabolomics, metabolic flux analysis, integration with other omics, and real-time metabolite detection in living cells Role of inflammation in metabolism and immunometabolism Drug metabolism and its impacton human health Pathophysiology, diagnosis, and treatment of metabolic disorders, includingdiabetes, obesity, cancer, cachexia, sarcopenia, cardiovascular disease and metabolic syndrome Genetic, molecular, and environmental factors that influencemetabolic diseases The relationship between the gut microbiome and diseases, immunity, diet, and metabolism, including molecular mechanisms governing gut microbiota regulation and identification of potential biomarkers Inter-organ communication and tissue-level interactions, with a focus on the liver, muscles, adipose tissue, gut microbiota, and brain Epidemiology and public health strategies for the prevention and management of metabolic disorders Nutritional interventions and their effectson metabolic processes By encompassing these areas, HM aims to foster interdisciplinary collaboration and contribute to the development of innovative solutions to some of the most pressing health challenges.
