Aims & Scope

L’IDEA is a fully digital, gold open-access, interdisciplinary journal devoted to the study of art theory and practice in Europe from the early modern period to the present, with particular attention to artists’ ideas, writings, and the intersections between drawing and theoretical discourse. The journal is published in digital open access format annually. Each issue consists of two fascicles: Texts Sources Lexicon and Drawings. It offers the scientific community original articles of international scope (in the main languages: English, French, Italian), submitted to peer-review. It is part of the PRIN 2022 project, IDEA | Digital Corpus Zuccari. Texts, Contexts, Sources and Lexicon, funded by the European Union (NextGenerationEU) and the Ministry of University and Research, and co-financed by the Academy of Fine Arts of Rome.
