Aims & Scope
Studies in Linguistics and Language Education (SLLE) is an international, peer-reviewed, open-access journal that publishes original research in the fields of linguistics and language education. It is published by the LOAPL Laboratory (Laboratory of Creation of Educational Tools and Learning in Foreign Languages), affiliated with the Faculty of Foreign Languages at the University of Oran 2 Mohamed Ben Ahmed, and appears biannually (June and December) in English since 2025. The journal is entirely free of charge, with no submission or publication fees. SLLE welcomes contributions across a wide spectrum of linguistic and educational research, including: Theoretical Linguistics: General Linguistics, Phonetics and Phonology, Morphology, Syntax, Semantics, Pragmatics, Historical and Comparative Linguistics. Applied Linguistics and Language Studies: Language Didactics and Pedagogy, Second and Foreign Language Acquisition, Multilingual and Multicultural Education, Language Policy and Planning, Language Assessment and Testing, Specialized Languages (academic, professional, technical), Corpus Linguistics, Computational Linguistics. Interdisciplinary Perspectives: Sociolinguistics, Psycholinguistics, Cognitive Linguistics, Discourse and Conversation Analysis, Stylistics and Rhetoric, Translation and Interpreting Studies, Language and Technology / Educational Technologies. Emerging and Cross-Cutting Areas: Language Sciences and Interdisciplinary Interfaces, Critical Discourse Analysis, Language and Identity, Language, Culture, and Society, Ecolinguistics, Sustainability in Language Education, Digital Humanities in Language Studies, Artificial Intelligence in Linguistics and Language Education. Although the language of publication is English , SLLE considers research addressing all languages and linguistic contexts , not solely English. The journal also publishes special issues devoted to important and emerging topics within its scope.
