Journal of Underutilised Crops Research
AOSIS (Pty) Ltd · South Africa · Est. 2022
Aims & Scope
The Journal of Underutilised Crops Research is an international multi- and transdisciplinary journal that aims to publish original research on various aspects relating to underutilised and neglected crops. Underutilised and neglected crops can be indigenous or exotic, and many rural communities in developing countries rely heavily on these crops. Therefore, there is a need to shift focus to these crops as they are also said to be more resilient to extreme environmental events. Some underutilised crops are said to be “crops of the future”, yet very little is known about them in terms of research. The Journal of Underutilised Crops Research is a peer-reviewed online journal that aims to publish high-quality articles promoting research on indigenous, neglected, and underutilised crops. It will cover topics that aim to improve and expand knowledge on aspects related to: crop production genetics and breeding pre- and postharvest management integrated pest management value chains and socio-cultural dynamics resource protection and indigenous knowledge systems food security, and sustainability (social, environmental, and economic).
