Aims & Scope
Slavica Slovaca is an independent scientific periodical published by the Ján Stanislav Institute of Slavistics of the Slovak Academy of Sciences, v. v. i., in cooperation with the Slovak Committee of Slavists. It represents a key publication medium of Slovak Slavistics. Since 1965, the Slovak Academy of Sciences (through its institutes) has been publishing the interdisciplinary Slavic journal Slavica Slovaca, indexed in several international databases (Scopus, CEJSH, ERIH PLUS, CEEOL, OAJI). The journal publishes scientific studies, overviews, reports, and reviews from the fields of linguistics, history, ethnology, culturology, and the history of Slavistics. It focuses on interdisciplinary and comparative research of the relationships between the Slovak language and culture with other Slavic and non-Slavic languages and cultures, including Slovak-Church Slavonic, Slovak-Latin, and Slovak-German relations. As the main publication organ of Slovak Slavistics, it also presents excerpts from the annual reports of the Ján Stanislav Institute of Slavistics of the Slovak Academy of Sciences, reports from meetings of the Slovak Committee of Slavists, and information on international Slavic events.
